Grand Lecturer's Convention Report

My Brothers: The Grand Lecturer's Convention was a great success. We had over 90 brothers in the lodge room at Lake City, by far the most I have seen for one of these events. I would like to take this opportunity to thank, in particular, all the Masons and Stars at Lake City who worked so hard to make this delightful evening possible.

As part of the convention there are a number of awards each lodge can attain. This year we had two lodges earn the Potts Award, Lake City and Scriba. Their Masters will be invited to the East to accept their award at Grand Lodge next May. The Sheldon K. Blank award for increased attendance went to Central Square and last but not least, the Richard Darling plaque, awarded to the lodge with the largest number of line officers present went to Lake City. Well Done!!

Freemasonry is a secular organization, however all Masons profess spiritual belief. In the 1st degree we are taught that adopting no particular creed we should each be steadfast in the faith of our acceptance. There are five major faiths in the world today, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism all having masonic brothers among their ranks and all now celebrating holidays of importance in their faiths. Thus it is our wish, Norm's and mine, that all of you we call our brothers, whoever you may accept as “The Great Architect of the Universe” with your families receive great joy and happiness in the “holiday Season” that is upon us.
