Grand Lecturer's Convention Report

Brothers & Friends: The Oswego District Grand Lecturer's Convention has passed into history. Since it took place too late for me to get a report into the November WORD here it is now. The Convention was well attended as usual with 73 brothers traveling to Lake City in search of more Masonic Light. Following a fine dinner the Ritual depicted was the Hiramic Legend from the 3rd Degree. It was an educational evening for everyone and our portrayal produced considerable lively and informative discussion.

The following Awards were presented. The Richard Darling award for most line officers present went to Lake City # 127 with a full compliment of 12, Master through Treasurer. The Sheldon K. Blank award for attendance increase year to year went to Hiram #144. Finally, next May, the Masters of Lake City #127 and Scriba #414 will be called to the East in Grand Lodge and presented the Potts award. Congratulations to the winners for making the effort required to obtain these awards. Let them inspire the rest of us to higher accomplishment.

As you read this, having awakened from the sleep induced by Thanksgiving feasting, we are entering the Holiday Season. Try to keep in mind the less fortunate of those among our human family and remember the Masonic Tenet Relief, “To relieve the distressed is a duty incumbent on all men, but particularly on Masons”. The Brotherhood Fund is a good and deserving place to start.
