Masonic Cooperation Can Accomplish Great Things

Brothers: A couple of weeks ago on a Saturday morning, I traveled to Pulaski to observe the Raising of three new Brothers. The degree had originally been scheduled for early January but problems beyond the control of those planning the event forced its postponement. In my last three years as AGL I have seen and taken part in many degrees, this was among the best. What made it all the more remarkable was that there had been no opportunity for practice and the cast members hailed from at least 5 different lodges. The success of the presentation is a splendid illustration of what Freemasonry can accomplish when we come together as brothers. This joint effort was possible because a number of the lodges in the Oswego District have been doing a lot of degree work over the last several years. This has resulted In a pool of talent, familiar with the ritual, that came together to produce this very positive experience for the newly raised brothers.

The second point that should be taken from this is that no lodge in the district need be hesitant to schedule a degree. There is willing help to pull the whole thing off. Those of you who have not conferred or exemplified a degree are reminded that the Grand Master's edict is still in effect. At least one degree each year. After seeing how well things went in Pulaski and the enjoyment it brought to all the participants I know that lodges that have not been doing Ritual are really missing out on the fun.

I would like to thank all the brothers from around the district that helped make the degree possible and in particular would like to acknowledge RW Bernie Bialecki, past DDGM, for organizing the cast and W Mike Faulkner for his fine presentation of the Master's Work.
